Where there is light you can have photography.
In this specialist course with Marco Bok you will look at the use of ambient light in photographic portraiture by considering arresting examples from the history of photography and painting. Ambient light is understood to mean the light encountered in a situation whatever it’s source.
You will learn to understand the direction, quality and colour of light on the subject and surrounds in terms of atmosphere and mood. The course is be largely practical in orientation and is scheduled to align with the Newtown Festival which students will attend on the second day to practice available light portraiture techniques in a visually interesting environment.
Please note - an entry fee to the festival may apply.
