Australia's leading artists share their fashion inspirations

Join top artists, sculptors and writers sharing how the fashion world enlivens their work

Fruitful collaborations with artists have resulted in some of the most dynamic moments in fashion history. From Schiaparelli’s collaborations with Dalí to Saint Laurent’s commodification of Mondrian, the interface between art and fashion creates a nexus of tension worth celebrating.

Session I:
Fashion Beyond Fabric

VAULT’s Alison Kubler explores how contemporary artists engage with fashion both conceptually and commercially. Kubler is joined by contemporary artist and sculptor, Alex Seton, paper engineer Benja Harney and photomedia artist and costumier, Gerwyn Davies, to explore relationships between clothing and diverse creative practices.

Session II:
Creative Couples In Conversation

Jackie Frank, former Editor-In-Chief, Marie Claire, chairs an In-Conversation celebrating the work of creative pairs Louise Olsen and Stephen Ormandy of Dinosaur Designs, together with VAULT’s Alison Kubler and her artist partner, Michael Zavros. Irrespective of differences in process and practice, the combined work of each pair attests to the ways in which collaboration enlivens the act of creation.
