The nation's top 16 poets take the stage to compete in the Australian Poetry Slam 2026 National Final. The audience decides the winner on the night, putting the crowd, not the critics, in charge of who takes the title.

Hosted by Miles Merrill, with a Welcome to Country from Michael West, the evening features original poetry performed in the Australian Poetry Slam's signature two-minute format, featuring 2025 APS Champion Arantza Garcia Ferrand alongside this year's finalists. Expect sharp language, raw storytelling, and a packed room backing their favourites. Fifteen years of running this event means Word Travels knows how to put on a show.
