Audition Technique Masterclass with Bren Foster

Bren has been consistently working as an actor in the USA and Australia and has been using this successful formula to increase his chances of booking jobs. Come along and learn this step by step system on audition for film and television.

Over the four week Master class actors will learn a solid, repeatable and highly effective technique, ideal for auditions and work in the professional world of Film and Television

Each week students will move through vital parts of understanding and absorbing the scripted world through characters and the given circumstances.

There will be particular emphasis on imagination- bringing the world on the page to a vivid and clear creative life force through the imaginary circumstances.

Bren loves helping and building confidence in aspiring actors encouraging them to be free and pliable, willing to explore all directions.

Bren’s Masterclass will run for four weeks on Friday evenings from 6:30pm to 9:30pm at The Actors Pulse, 103 Regent St Redfern.

Week 1 - Friday 6 May: Exploring facts of the script/scene - the script detective work, in a very detailed approach.

Week 2 - Friday 13 May: Understanding playable actions for everything that all characters do in the scene. Finding an overall action. What the character wants in the scene. And the search for the most important part of the work- "The core human condition" that drives the character.

Week 3 - Friday 20 May: Using what we have learned from the prior two weeks we start to build the imaginative world for the character. Actors will live the life of their character through a series of exercises that build a strong emotional and lasting connection to the work.

Week 4 - Friday 27 May: Applying the technique from the three previous weeks, actors will work through their scenes with an emphasis on allowing themselves to let go and trust that the imaginative and character work will organically present itself when needed.
