Some of the beautifully illustrated menus for state and civic functions at Sydney Town Hall held in the City of Sydney Archives inspired the City’s Curator, Margaret Betteridge, to explore the traditions of entertaining and the protocols which accompanied an invitation to dine at the Mayor’s table.
From menus to table decorations, from toasts to dress codes you will enjoy a feast of ideas from times past to help you plan your next dinner party. Margaret will share some of the recipes and household hints she discovered in her research, including some, especially for Christmas.
