Our new Artist in Focus program will feature a month-long, deep dive into the practice of one of MAY SPACE Online's artists. Ruth has been exhibiting with the Gallery since 2017, presenting actions of personal reflection through fine porcelain work and intricate raw clay installations. Her autobiographical pieces examine the ongoing and cyclical nature of life and the gradual progression of time. Most recently, Ruth presented a new series of work Inflorescence in December 2020 at MAY SPACE.
As our first artist in focus, Represented Artist Ruth Ju-Shih Li talks to us about her new residency at Gallery Lane Cove + Creative Studios, her upcoming exhibition, and how her practice has changed over the course of 2020.
Read our exclusive interview and watch Ruth build one of her ephemeral installations for us.
