Artificial intelligence and virtual reality

Understand 2 of the most important disruptive technologies hugely impacting the world

This workshop helps children and teenagers from 8 to 16 years have an in-depth understanding of artificial intelligence and virtual reality, 2 disruptive technologies that are going to change all industries in the near future. With our uniquely designed hands-on projects, participants will have a broad overview of the fields and also gain fundamental skills to leverage essential technologies.

Lead facilitator Alex Lailei Huang has extensive work experience in the VR /AR education industry. He was a researcher in distributed artificial intelligence at Hong Kong Baptist University. Alex has 4 academic publications in topics related to artificial intelligence, data mining and social media analysis.

By the end of the workshop, the participants will be able to understand:

  • 2 of the most important disruptive technologies which are generating huge impacts on nearly all industries and job markets
  • artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep learning – the ‘intelligent brain’ behind autonomous cars and smart robots. To enhance the understanding, participants can train their own neural networks to unleash human-level intelligence like recognizing faces, understanding voice commands and analyzing social media.
  • virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality – the new human-digital world interface that destined to replace all screens and smartphones. To maximize the fun, participants will learn how creating virtual world with virtual reality can be shared with the entire world (even after the workshop).
