Art the Plate at Shinmachi Japanese Restaurant in Newtown, is a community event celebrating the everyday creative culture of our customers, and the healing qualities of food and good company.
Art the Plate invited professional artists to participate by designing their own ramen (ラーメン) bowls. These beautiful, creative and sometimes quirky bowls will be exhibited at Shinmachi. This project is proudly supported by City of Sydney. This event is free for diners at the restaurant.
Covid-safe information
Our events are held in line with the latest Government restrictions around Covid-19.
We record names for contact tracing with the Service NSW QR code, supply hand sanitiser, disinfect our surfaces and have limited number of people in the restaurant at a time (depending on the current advice), applying social distancing.
