An evening of sublime singing

Bringing Californian choral music to Sydney

Touring Australia for the first time, Bakersfield College Chamber Choir, California, makes its Sydney debut. The choir will be joined by local contemporaries, the Sydney University Madrigal Society.

Bakersfield’s conductor, Dr Jennifer Garrett, remembers that her father instilled in her a passion for music. Come and share that passion as together the choirs explore music which speaks to the heart and the soul.

The program includes Rachmaninoff’s ‘Bogoroditse Devo’, Biebel’s ‘Ave Maria’, Whitacre’s ‘Leonardo Dreams of his Flying Machine,’ creative gospel arrangements, and a selection of madrigals and Renaissance music.

Bakersfield is in Sydney for the Craig Hella Johnson Festival.
