Alma Studholme - Accreation II: Ontological Transmutations

An exhibition at Verge Gallery

Verge Gallery is gearing up to our first opening of 2016 – with exhibitions White and Accreation II : Ontological Transmutations.

Alma Studholme’s solo exhibition Accreation II: Ontological Transmutations is designed around the broken pieces of the Firing Enso porcelain sculpture featured in the Verge Gallery’s 2015 group exhibition Accreation: Un-becoming and the Surface as Sight. The broken sculpture will take a central position in a new installation which is a collaborative project with Youngdong Kim. Kim’s recording of Studholme’s brainwaves during meditation will show them transformed into Buddhist mandala patterns that are ‘broken’ at certain intervals by distractions. The ontological states of being fragmented and being whole will be explored throughout the exhibition in multimedia and mixed-media visual links between a circle and a single point of focus.

Please join us for the opening of our first exhibition of the year, on January 14 from 6pm-8pm, drinks and nibbles will be served.

Exhibition runs until 30 January.
