Boom! International Festival of Percussion presents global jazz group, ALLY, showcase jazz at its most passionate and irresistible, with music drawn from Afro-Peruvian, Cuban, Brazilian, and Caribbean traditional rhythms paired with a modern jazz aesthetic.

Expect to hear Giorgio Rojas’ Peruvian experimentalism alongside Daniel Pliner’s tumbaos; James Greening’s brilliance on trombone, and Gai Bryant’s densely layered Cuban and Peruvian-influenced jazz cameos, underpinned by Juan Carlos Allende’s mastery of Cuban percussion. Layered on top is the beautiful voice of Melody Rivera and the stunning imagery of Dai Moret’s poetry.

The alchemy resulting from the blend of these elements and people is an exhilarating new twist on original Latin jazz in Australia.
