Landscape Architecture – A time of reflection

When
  • Friday 8 May from 7pm to 9pm
Cost

Adult: $35.00

Join us for this presentation by Matthew Taylor, award-winning landscape architect and heritage practitioner.

Matthew will discuss the historical context and built outcomes of three nationally significant war memorials that he has designed:

  • Kokoda Track Memorial Walkway at Concord on the banks of the Parramatta River in Sydney

  • Australian Corps Memorial at Le Hamel in the Somme, France

  • ANZAC Commemorative site at Gallipoli, Turkey

He’ll explore the political context of the time of memorial making, and the design influences that inspired him.

We’ll discover the distinctive geographical context of the memorials and diverse design and the resulting landscape outcomes.
