Delete Bumble BFF, forget Tinder. No need to swipe right or chew up your data and drain your battery. A brand new speed dating concept is coming to Sydney, and founders are hoping you will meet your new girl gang.
The inaugural 50 First Girl Dates intends to connect like-minded women with each other, no strings attached. No creepy, over-edited mirror-selfies, pictures with tigers or intimidating-girl-cliques eating avocado toast in bustling cafes in sight.
“We’ve been friends since we were 14 years old, though recently, it’s become very real that making new friends [especially in Sydney] can be harder than dating. After hearing from so many other inspiring women that they too, face this on the daily, we knew it was time to bring a solution to fruition,” says 50 First Girl Dates founder, Emma Taylor and Bec Chambers.
In partnership with Rose Rose, 50 First Girl Dates will bring women together in a comfortable, relaxed environment. Bond over easy conversation, good food, a couple of drinks (read: rosé. Of course there’s rosé!) set in a beautiful atmosphere.
The evening will be filled with five-minute speed girl-dates, excellent conversation starters (no cheesiness here, we promise), mouth-watering grazing boards, good music (we encourage group singa-a-long) and an opportunity for networking with like-minded, inspiring women from all over Sydney.
Every attendee will go home at the end of the night with a special gift bag and hopefully the digits of a new found wing-woman. Eat your heart out Taylor Swift and co, there might just be a new #girlsquad rolling around the streets of Sydney.
