See storytelling brought to the stars at the 33rd Mardi Gras Film Festival, presented by Queer Screen, running from 12 to 26 February in Sydney!

With over 168 of the world’s best LGBTQIA+ films across 71 sessions at Event Cinemas George Street, Dendy Newtown, and more venues across Sydney, this year’s line-up promises something for everyone.

Join us Opening Night film, Jimpa, from Australian filmmaker, Sophie Hyde, stars Olivia Colman, John Lithgow and Aud Mason-Hyde, in a celebration of LGBTIQ+ culture and queer family, offering a nuanced reflection on how social expectations and our understanding of family have evolved across generations. Closing Night film, She's the He, is a bold reinvention of the high school teen comedy, joyfully reframed through a much-needed queer and trans lens.

Catch must-see premieres like the Australian Premiere of A Deeper Love: The Story of Miss Peppermint, an intimate documentary charting the rise of trailblazing performer and trans icon Miss Peppermint, plus 20 Sydney premieres, including The Chronology of Water, from Kristen Stewart, making her directorial debut, Teddy Jury Prize winner If You Are Afraid You Put Your Heart Into Your Mouth and Smile, and the Queer Palm winner The Little Sister.

See you at the festival!
