These autumn school holidays, get hands-on with inspiring art-making activities at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
Whatever your age, there’s so much to see and do at the Art Gallery of New South Wales throughout the school holidays, including drop-in workshops and roving art-making tours.
Drop-in workshops:
Along came a spider (Wednesdays 10–24 April, 5.30–7.30pm) – Create your own spider artwork, inspired by the Louise Bourgeois exhibition. Free.
Be at the Hive (Saturday 13 – Friday 19 April, 11am–3.30pm) – Help build immersive cardboard structures inspired by shapes created by native bees. Free.
Rocking the rainbow (Monday 15 – Sunday 28 April, 11am–3.30pm) – Make a rainbow rock sculpture inspired by the work of artist Rosie Deacon. Free.
Drawing with Mimi Tong (Tues 16 April, 11.30am and Tues 23 April, 2pm) – Join artist Mimi Tong for a drop-in drawing workshop. Free.
Symbolic species (Saturday 20 – Sunday 28 April, 11am–3.30pm) – Create a sculpture of an animal that you think symbolises someone you love. Free.

Storytime for under 5s (Fridays, 11.30am) – Enjoy the magic of art through books and storytelling in the Art Gallery’s Children’s Art Library. Free
Guided tour for kids (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in the holidays, 10.30am and 11.30pm) – Explore some of the most intriguing artworks on display in the Art Gallery through friendly and fun activities. Free.
