Australia Singing Competition 2010 Finals Concert.
Be part of the audience of the Australian Singing Competition, the richest singing competition in Australia, this year offering prizes valued at over $180,000.
Since 1982 the ASC has recognised young emerging opera and classical singers with awards, including the prestigious Marianne Mathy Scholarship, that have been specially created to help them launch their professional operatic careers.
In 2010 five young finalists, sopranos Rachel Bate, Kiandra Howarth, and Eleanor Lyons with bass baritone Ryan Sharp and tenor Kang Wang will perform with the Australian Opera & Ballet Orchestra conducted by acclaimed Giovanni Reggioli – courtesy Opera Australia – and generously sponsored by the International Foundation for Arts and Culture (Chairman Dr Haruhisa Handa).
With Lisa Gasteen AO as National Adjudicator and you, the audience, having the opportunity to vote and reward the singer who you consider Australia’s finest, delivering a cash prize of $5000 courtesy of the Sydney Opera House, the ASC is arguably the premier and most exciting singing competition in Australia.
