International Students Workshop: Useful Information, Support and Safety Advice

The City invites International Students to participate in a free interactive workshop to learn self-awareness, personal and surf safety skills.
Topics to be covered will include personal safety and awareness, surf safety and NSW road rules.
Students will be able to meet and ask questions of representatives from NSW Police. The Police will simulate an emergency call to Triple Zero (000) and provide safety tips to students about looking after themselves, their friends and their belongings when studying and exploring the city.
Surf Education Australia will equip students for swimming safely at our beaches and safe swimming strategies including choosing where to swim and City of Sydney staff will be on hand to provide tips on pedestrian safety and basic road rules.
Representatives from Redfern Legal Centre’s International Student Legal Advice Service will answer questions from students and make appointments for legal assistance regarding a range of issues including tenancy, employment and visa issues.
Refreshments will be provided. Doors open at 5.30pm for registration.
