Late Night Library @ Newtown: Never Not Funny

You know what’s never not funny? Funny stuff. And there’s loads of it on offer when Late Night Library debuts in Newtown. Get laughing with the funny friends of Campfire Collective in the heights of the Newtown Library gallery. The folks who’ve brought laughs to Late Night Library at Surry Hills, Harvest Festival, Peats Ridge Festival, Sydney Comedy Festival and more are gathering the best and brightest in alternative and emerging comedy to tear the roof off Newtown Library with a laughter explosion. Sit back, relax and take in a healthy dose of mirth as the laughter monster splits your sides with a fast and furious giggle-fest.

Smart Casual is Fletcher Jones (on guitar) and Roger David (on beard), arguably Australia’s smartest, most casual musical comedy duo. Since emerging as national finalists in Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s Raw Comedy competition, Smart Casual fast made their way up, taking part the following year in The Comedy Zone, Melbourne Comedy Festival’s handpicked showcase of the best new talent. Not long after they were performing in the Melbourne International Comedy Festival All Stars Supershow alongside the likes of Tim Minchin. They’ve toured all around Australia performing at Sydney Comedy Festival, Perth Fringe Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival, and internationally (ok, Singapore).

In 50 minutes, Smart Casual will recreate their childhood on stage. They will delve into their past and explore their secret boyish desires. They will look at the fads and the people that made the first part of their life very, very special – wankers. A rollicking referential ride through the best of the 80, 90s and 000s brought to life with the diamond (ok, cubic zirconia) wit of Smart Casual; get ready to relive their unhealthy and damn funny childhood.
