THE TRANSIT OF VENUS FORMS THE INSPIRATION FOR AN EXCITING NEW EXHIBITION
The extremely rare happening of the astrological phenomena, Transit of Venus forms the inspiration for a new exhibition at Sydney’s Tropical Centre at the Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney.
The scarce Transit of Venus occurs every 243 years, unlike the annual Sydney Morning Herald Autumn of the Arts of which this captivating exhibition is a highlight in the festival program.
The Tropical Centre will undergo a facelift and be transformed into a contemporary art playground, with impressive sculptural hangings. The magical exhibition is created by Scott Cardamatis who uses rare and unusual native seeds and flower casings sourced from bush regenerators and wildflower growers across Australia.
Mr. Cardamatis works with native seedpods, hard wooden flower casings and vines, sourced from every state and Territory across Australia.
Each handmade object has been specially designed for the exhibition and will be available to purchase.
