Celebrating the Lunar New Year, Sydney comes alive with four key events and over 80 associated events as part of its Chinese New Year Festival celebrations.
Taking place on Friday 20 January is the Festival Launch at Belmore Park. Join in the fun and enjoy outdoor entertainment, karaoke, sumptuous Sichuan cuisine, and much more.
If food is your passion be sure to taste test your way through the Markets at Belmore Park from Friday 20 January – Sunday 22 January. Featuring cooking demonstrations, Sichuan flavours, and plenty of entertainment, it’s a foodie’s paradise.
From 8pm on Sunday 29 January, the Twilight Parade moves through the Chinatown, led by a dragon head from Town Hall. Featuring acrobatics, music, martial arts, vibrant building projections and over 2,900 performers, this is one event you’ll not want to miss!
One of the most popular events in the Festival calendar are the Dragon Boat Races at Darling Harbour, taking place on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 February. See the mythical beasts surge through the water and cheer along your favourite team.
