The City was full of Christmas cheer on Thursday 24 November for the ever popular Martin Place Tree Lighting & Christmas Concert and Hyde Park’s, Christmas on the Green. Both concerts were a huge success, and we look forward to planning an even bigger concert for 2012!
This year’s Village Concerts are jam-packed with family activities, children’s entertainers, Christmas carols and live music for the whole family. It wouldn’t be Christmas without Santa and as always he will make a grand surprise entrance at each concert. Our Village Concerts are at Alexandria, Surry Hills and Rushcutters Bay, Rosebery.
The city will sparkle with decorations from late October with Christmas themes including blanketing the City with more than 1,500 street banners, decorations and beautiful bud lights to create a truly magical atmosphere that you won’t want to miss seeing for yourself.
Make sure you also check out the much-loved Christmas projections on Sydney Town Hall every night from 24 November to 25 December, 8.30pm til late.
This year, City of Sydney welcomes our new Christmas Charity Partner, The Australian Children’s Music Foundation. The foundation provides music programs for children. To provide hope, joy, solace, self expression, self esteem and more. It gives these children the chance to look at the world through different eyes. Volunteers will be at all City of Sydney concerts and we hope you can support them to provide a better future for our children.
