The Watershed, 218 King St, Newtown, is running a special promotion for Fairtrade Fortnight between 7-22nd May. Fairtrade ensures better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world. In buying Fairtrade Certified products, consumers have a direct impact on poor and disadvantaged producers, their families and their communities. In promoting Fairtrade Fortnight, the Watershed will be printing a dedicated map and directory identifying shops and eating places currently selling Fairtrade in the Newtown precinct. These will be available to collect from the Watershed and from participating businesses.
